Winnie Spooner was the 18th woman to gain her flying licence in the UK in 1928.
She lived and worked for many years in Wokingham.
I talked about Winnie on a BBC Radio Berkshire broadcast and on 25th March gave a presentation in the Town Hall to the Wokingham Society.
This podcasts is based on those talks

Her moving daring exploit was an attempt to fly from London to Cape Town in 5 days. It ended in disaster.
